AXIS 292 Network Video Decoder
Decodes digital video & audio streams for analog systems

The AXIS 292 Network Video Decoder can decode MPEG-4, MPEG-2 or Motion JPEG video and audio streams from up to 128 Axis video sources into analog video signals. This allows analog video devices such as regular TV sets, analog monitors and existing analog video switches to be connected to Axis IP Surveillance products.

Via an Ethernet network such as a local area network or Internet, the AXIS 292 takes a stream of digital video and audio from a specified Axis network camera or video server, and converts it into high quality analog video signals. Sensitive video streams can be encrypted using HTTPS. Ideal for retail applications, campus security and city center surveillance, the AXIS 292 can be used for live surveillance. In manual mode you can switch between any of 128 different channels and monitor large areas, anywhere your IP network goes. In auto mode the viewing order and time are set in advance to switch images at given intervals, and keep track on multiple events continuously. With auto connect on alarm you can instantly view video e.g. when motion detection triggers an alarm and take appropriate action.

Bridging long distances, the AXIS 292 decoders can, in combination with Axis video servers, quickly and cost-effectively connect existing analog systems at different locations. Via an Axis video server, you can receive video and audio from distant analog cameras via digital transfer, even though they might be located in a different city.
